Lanney (Flynn) Crain of Slidell passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at the age of 65.

The youngest of five siblings, Lanney was born in Bogalusa on Monday, July 4, 1955, to her loving parents, the late Alma (Lee) Flynn and Julius Flynn.

Lanney was a loving aunt whose age was in close proximity to many of her nieces and nephews, all of whom she grew up with.

Lanney’s presence lit up every room she was in and those who were fortunate enough to have known her would agree she was a joy to be around and was loved by everyone. She had a passion for every activity that enabled quality time with her close-knit family; i.e., holidays/celebrations, cookouts, boat riding on the river, camping, fishing, crabbing, bingo, playing cards, going to the casino, family reunions, traveling or just plain hanging out.

She was an avid reader who loved books and always had several laying around.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Julius Flynn; three sisters, Gladys Penton, Irene Tynes and Louvelia Owens Rivas; and one nephew, Julius Tynes.

Lanney is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robbie Crain of Slidell; one sister, Nellie Gipson and brother-in-law Billy Ray Gipson of Slidell; nieces, Anita Marie Porter of Slidell, Mable Miller, Alma Jean White and Romona Rogers of Bogalusa, and Maggie McMahon of Manila, Iowa; nephews, Billy Wayne Gipson of Metairie, Gussie Tynes of White Sand, Miss., Otha Tynes of Rogers, Ark., and Herbert Penton, Hubert Penton and Leonard Owens of Bogalusa.

The family is planning a graveside memorial service at Pounds Cemetery on a later date yet to be determined.
