On January 29, 2021, the Rev. Karl David Wood Sr., 92, went to be with the Lord at his eternal home. Rev. Wood was kind and strong and always stood for God’s way, not my will but thy will be done. He was God’s man. He was faithful and loyal to his Lord, serving all the surrounding area for 60 years spreading God’s ministry.

The Rev. Karl Wood Sr. is survived by a loving girlfriend, Millicent Canter; three devoted sons, Karl David Wood Jr. (Debbie), Manuel Duane Wood (Mary), and Robert Daniel Wood; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Daphne; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three spouses, Lindell Sharp, Helen Fornea and Cynthia Byrd; one son, Thomas Darryl Wood; his parents, Robert and Hazel Wood; two brothers, Robert “Bob” Wood and John Talmage Wood; and a daughter-in-law, Rose Mary Wood.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 3, starting at 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Bro. James Moore will be officiating the service. Interment will immediately follow at Holmes Cemetery in Talisheek.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to United Methodist Children and Family Services or Our Lady of the Angels Hospital.
