Charlene Jones, 86, a resident of Franklinton, was born on Sept. 25, 1934. She departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Carl Jones of North Billerica, Mass., Ralph Jones of Mt. Hermon, Wayne Jones of Columbus, Ga., Mildred Shavers, Bridget Jones, Kathy Hayes and Michael Jones, all of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Leaudry Conner, Alvia Williams and Beverly Woods; one brother, Lawrence Hart; 20 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Mildred Hart Sr.; husband, Ray Jones Jr.; sister, Ladonis Cooley; brothers, Elbert Hart, Leon Hart Jr. and Rochester Hart; and grandchildren, Tarshula Hayes and Angelica Jones.

A drive-through viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

A Private Graveside service will be held on Saturday, Jan 16, at St. James Cemetery in Franklinton, with the Rev. Johnny Causey, pastor, officiating.
