Brenda Jones Barnes, 59, a resident of Franklinton, loved her family, church family and God more than anything. She was a devoted employee of Affiliated Heart 2 Heart and enjoyed caring for her clients.
She was a loyal and faithful member of Dominion and Power in Hammond. She was currently under the leadership of Apostle Paul Beard for five years. She came to the knowledge of Christ at Light House Pentecostal Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Jimmy Robinson. She was also a devoted member of New Dimension Fellowship for 10 years under the leadership of Pastor Douglas Williams.
Brenda leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Alton Barnes; one phenomenal son whom she adored and was extremely proud of, Justin Jones, both of Franklinton; two extraordinary grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Mykel and Norah Jones; 11 siblings, Caroline Pittman of Franklinton, Rosa Knight of Lithonia, Ga., Marie Smith of Port Gibson, Miss., Lisa Johnson and Tony Jones, both of Gary, Ind., Carrie Cowans (Donald) of Las Vegas, Nev., Corey Jones of Yazoo City, Miss., Jesse Smith, Odell Smith and Dessa Jones, all of Compton, Calif., and Jermaine Pittman of Tylertown, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brooks “Bruce” Pittman and Lizzie Mae Anthony; three brothers, Hardy, John and Jimmy Jones; and one sister, Catherine Dixon-Galloway.
A drive through viewing will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19, from noon until 2 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton, with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Interment will be at Wilson Cemetery.
