Mrs. Ella Mae Seal Stewart, 84, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Mandeville. She was born Jan. 15, 1936, in Varnado.

Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents, John Pierce and Lillie Kirkland; three children, Charlotte Seal Erwin, Steve Seal and Roland Seal; and a brother, Roy Pierce.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Stewart of Mandeville; and her grandchildren, Chastity Seal Young, Chantelle Fornea, Bucky Erwin, Laurie Thomas, Aaron Seal, Ryan Seal and Kristen Seal Pierce; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as one sister, Kathleen Pierce Wall.

She is also survived by her family on Richard’s side: his daughter, Amy Stewertson; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Stewart; and grandchildren, Matthew Stewart, Connor Stewart and Calum Stewertson.

Ella Mae was well-loved by her family and friends for her positivity and sense of humor, her abundance of energy, and her desire to be the best person she could be. She was an accomplished homemaker, and she made all feel welcome and comfortable, whether at her home or in her travels with Richard. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, and bridge. She will be deeply missed.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, from 9 a.m. until the service time of 10 a.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Seal Cemetery in Varnado. Dr. Waylon Bailey will officiate with Bro. Bucky Erwin assisting.

Due to COVID-19 restriction, mask mandates and social distancing will be observed during visitation and funeral services.
