Linda McCain Thomas, 64, a lifelong resident of Franklinton, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Tuesday night, Dec. 1, 2020. She had recently celebrated her 46th wedding anniversary with Burdette Thomas. She was a member of Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church and regularly attended the church that her husband pastored, Faith Missionary Baptist Church. Linda loved her grandchildren, going to church, her church family, and her pets. She always enjoyed working in the yard.
She is survived by her husband, Burdette Thomas of Franklinton; three children and spouses, Brad and Christine Thomas of Carriere, Miss., Reginia and Brad Walker of Thibodaux, and Daniel and Stacey Thomas of Arabi; six grandchildren, Gary Lee, Brooke Meyer, Bradley Thomas, Gracelyn Cockburn, Emilee Walker and Aubrey Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Talon Wheat, Brenzleigh Daniels and Oakland Venable; mother, Nelline McCain of Franklinton; and brother and sister-in-law, Rex and Debbie McCain of Franklinton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Norman McCain Jr.; and grandparents, Norman McCain Sr. and Cora McCain.
Visitation will be at Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 5, from noon until 2 p.m. Following the visitation, a graveside funeral service officiated by Elder Donnie Broom and Elder Mark Hobgood will be held at 2 p.m. in the Church Cemetery. COVID-19 precautions will be strictly followed.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Thomas, Pat Rogers, Kent Passman, Randy Thomas, Nick Wilkerson and Chris Thomas.
