Elcyle Stringer Kennedy passed away in New Orleans on Sept. 30, 2020, at the age of 83. She was born in Tylertown, Miss., on June 24, 1937. She was a longtime resident of Bogalusa, and member of Ben’s Ford Baptist Church. She worked at J.C. Penney for many years.

She is survived by her children, Jan Kennedy Harvey (Carl McWayne) of Bogalusa, Nan Kennedy Romano (Joe Paul) of Franklinton, and William Dale Kennedy (Sarah Lynn) of Varnado; seven grandchildren, Amy Barnwell (Mark), Jason Kennedy (Page), Amber Bell (Caleb), Scott Burt (Meagan), Raven Baughman (Brad), Michael Romano (Sunny) and Adam Romano; 18 great-grandchildren, Trevor, Drew, Zachary, Olivia, Mitchell, Lillian, Avery, Brylee, Elizabeth, Parker, Braxten, Conner, CarlyScott, Presley, John Eric, Russell, Brody, Anniston, Anthony (Brooklyn) and Jay; and great-great-grandchildren, Calvin, Carson, Jase and Riley.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daulton William Kennedy; her son, David Allen Kennedy; and her parents, Walter and Effie Stringer.

Services celebrating her life were held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 2. Visitation began at 2 p.m. and continued until the funeral service began at 4 p.m. Interment followed at Ponemah Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Jason Kennedy, Michael Romano, Adam Romano, Scott Burt, Mark Barnwell, Trevor Seale, Mitchell Miller and John Eric Self.
