Mary Maxine Tynes, 93, passed away on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020. She was a resident of the Stateline Community and a charter member of Briarwood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eptha Alton Tynes Jr.; her parents, Homer and Ollie Boone; her sisters, Hilda Seal, Leigh Kennedy, Dorothy Kennedy, and Maureen Hobgood; and her brothers, Clyde Boone, Lawrence Boone, and Stanley Boone.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her daughters, Glenda (Randy) Hopper, Cindy (Joel) Register, and Sonya Hess; her grandchildren, Sandi (Paul) Clark, Steve Gerald, Lauren (Ricky) Payne, Ian (Jaime) Burke, Ira Register, Jacob Hess, Zeke Register, and Naomi (Ross) Pellechino; great-grandchildren, Veronica Clark, Drew Bennett, Luke Clark, Zac Clark, Maggie Pierson, Natalie Payne, Amber Burke, Olivia Famellos, Emily Famellos, and Roman Pellichino; brothers, Carl (Carolyn) Boone, Paul Boone, and Glenn (Jessie Merle) Boone; and sisters-in-law, Joyce McCain and Jo Ann Strickland.

Maxine “Mac” was born on Christmas Day, 1926, in Sandy Hook, Miss. She graduated from Angie High School in 1944 and lived in New Orleans for a while where she worked as a telephone operator. In 1946 she married Alton Tynes, with whom she shared 65 years of her life.

Maxine was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She loved to collect recipes, crafting ideas, and gardening tips. Many of her creations won blue ribbons at the Washington Parish Free Fair. Her favorite pastime was doll making. Her many porcelain dolls fill her home.

Her life was celebrated in a private ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home at 11 a.m. The Rev. Eric Williams officiated. Extended family and friends were invited to attend graveside services immediately to follow at Briarwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Steve Gerald, Ian Burke, Jacob Hess, Zeke Register, Drew Bennett and Zac Clark. Honorary pallbearers were Ira Register, Luke Clark and Ricky Payne.
