Betty Reviere Crain, 71, a resident of the Isabel community, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 15, 2020, at Our Lady of The Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. She was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, who loved serving the Lord. Betty never met a stranger, and always loved sharing the gospel with people that she met. She was always honored to help others in need and help with any fundraising projects for people. Betty worked for 10 years as a substitute teacher at Fifth Ward Junior High, and enjoyed serving the children she had the opportunity to teach. She loved going to flea markets and singing gospel music, alongside her husband, at churches and nursing homes throughout the area.
She is survived by her husband, Randy “Butcher Man” Crain of Isabel; daughter and son-in-law, Joy Lynnette Barber and David Barber of Franklinton; son, Joey Leon Withers of Isabel; grandchildren and spouses, Dakota and Kacy Withers, Austin Lane Barber, Maddyson Barber, Jaden Withers, Meagan Withers, Kelsie Withers and Kyle Rosalies; great-grandchildren, Kylie Kihnel and Beretta Rosalies; brother and sister-in-law, Ottis Paul and Nannette Reviere of Bush; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Kathy Crain, and Kimberly and Les Stewart; special friends, Denise Arabie, Pearl Ballard, Frankie Thompson and Lucy Elder; and also numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis R. Reviere and Ella Maude Strange Reviere.
Visitation was at Oak Grove Baptist Church, located at 19840 Lee Road in Franklinton, on Friday, Sept. 18, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. A funeral service was held in the church at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, with Rev. Derek Dantin officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dakota Withers, Austin Lane Barber, Hunter Joiner, Blake Joiner, Brian Orsendorff and Billy Ray Breland. Honorary pallbearers were David Barber, Brandon Howard, Bro. David Barber and Russell Adams.
