On Tuesday, just before 6:30 a.m., troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 25 south of the Mississippi state line in Washington Parish. The crash claimed the life of Tamesha P. Shaffer, 27, of Tylertown, Miss.

The initial investigation led troopers to determine that Shaffer was southbound on Highway 25 in a 2006 Toyota Corolla when, for reasons still under investigation, her vehicle exited the roadway and impacted a culvert.  Shaffer was unrestrained during the crash and sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased on scene by the Washington Parish Coroner’s Office.

Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. As part of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were taken from Puckett for scientific analysis.
