Cindy Pulley Roach, 60, or “Aunt Cindy” to many, went to be with our Lord on Friday, Sept. 4, 2020. She was born May 4, 1960, in Bogalusa and was a lifelong resident and well-loved member of the community.
Cindy dedicated her life to service. Most people knew her from her many years as a bus driver for the Bogalusa City School System. She was friendly, welcoming, and left an indelible mark on many of the children who rode her bus over the years. Following retirement her service to the community continued as she went on to work for a crisis hotline, where she served as a comforting voice for those in search of hope. She was selfless and generous, and we as a community are diminished by her loss.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Pulley; mother, Jimmie Lee Pulley; brother, Michael Pulley; and son, Neal Roach.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Roach; sister, Darlene Cooper; son, Michael Lumpkin; daughters-in-law Melissa Adcox Lumpkin and Lesley Wheat; grandchildren, Tate Roach, Zayne Lumpkin, Hayden Roach, Hayze Roach, Ethan Rester, Haylon Roach, Madison Lumpkin and Myles Lumpkin; nephews, Darryl Cooper and Corey Cooper; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment followed in the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogalusa.
A visitation was held Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and Crematory.
