Donald Kuhn Sr., commander of the Magic City Post 24 of the American Legion, said Tuesday that the post’s Fourth of July parade will not be held this year.
However, the fireworks show will still be held at sundown on Saturday, July 4, at the Bogalusa High School football stadium. Everyone is welcome to view from a safe distance, but the stadium itself will not be open to the public.
Kuhn said that the post wanted to have the parade, but decided it would not be safe after Gov. John Bel Edwards’ decision Monday. Edwards announced that the state had not made enough progress in its fight against COVID-19, and would remain in “Phase Two” for at least 28 more days.
