The Washington Parish Animal Shelter recently received a donation of more than 2,000 pounds of dog food from the Greater Good organization (www.greatergood.org).

The shelter is located at 23046 YACC Road, and its phone number is 985-205-2023.

The shelter is open by appointment only on Saturdays, and from noon until 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. It is not open Sundays or Mondays.
