On Tuesday, shortly after 1 p.m., troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on U.S. Highway 190 near Old River Road in St. Tammany Parish. The crash claimed the life of Jerry M. Parr Sr., 69, of Bush.

Trooper Jeremy Price said that the initial investigation led troopers to determine that the crash occurred as Parr was driving a 2006 Lincoln Town Car northbound on Highway 190. Parr’s vehicle was struck head on by a 2011 Toyota Tundra, driven by Joseph J. Molinary, 19, of Slidell.

Despite being restrained, Parr sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital before being pronounced deceased, Price said. Seatbelts were used by both drivers and impairment is not suspected.

As a part of the crash investigation, a blood sample was collected for scientific analysis from Parr. Molinary submitted a voluntary breath sample, which showed no amount of alcohol present.

Price said that Molinary was cited for careless operation. Any additional charges will be forwarded to the St. Tammany Parish District Attorney’s Office, pending the completion of the investigation.
