A Washington Parish woman was arrested earlier this week on an outstanding warrant in Mississippi, according to Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Haley said that Ashlea Hobgood, 30, a resident of Ester Breland Road, was arrested Monday by WPSO Sgt. David Cupp.
“After being made aware of an outstanding Marion County warrant, Cupp went to a residence on Luke Pace Road, located Hobgood, and arrested her,” Haley said. “She was transported to the Washington Parish Jail, where she will remain until extradited to Mississippi.”
Haley said that this is not Hobgood’s first stay in the Washington Parish Jail. She was arrested in 2011 for possession of stolen property and again in 2013 for introduction of contraband into a correctional facility. In 2018, she was arrested for possession of illegal drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“As I’ve stated before, we are always glad to assist our law enforcement partners in Marion County,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “They are always willing to help us and we are always willing to help them. Such partnerships help to make law enforcement effective.”
