Bogalusa Balloon Festival delayed
Organizers with the Bogalusa Balloon Festival said this week that the inaugural event will have to be postponed for the time being.
In a letter, members of the Bogalusa Parks Recreation and Culture Commission said the plans were to have moved the May event to “backup dates” of June 5-7. However, it was learned that the state will likely not be ready for large gatherings by that time.
As a result, the organizers elected to put off the first festival, but still plan to hold it next year.
“It is with great sadness that we must cancel our inaugural Bogalusa Balloon Fest,” commission members wrote in the letter. “The current plan is to have the festival at the same time next year, and we will have definitive information on a date once the Bogalusa Parks Recreation and Culture Commission is able to meet again.”
Citizens are encouraged to follow the official “Bogalusa Balloon Festival” page on Facebook for timely information and updates.
