Flossie Barker was born and raised in Franklinton. She lived in New Orleans for a number of years and retired from Charity Hospital. She also worked at Tulane Medical Center. After Hurricane Katrina, she returned to Franklinton.

She leaves to cherish her memories a sister, Patricia Warren of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Florence Barker and a devoted niece, Shirley Gatlin, both of Franklinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcus and Freddie Barker; two brothers, Delos Barker and Thomas Barker; and two sisters, Freddie M. Carmichael and Mae Bell Brumfield.

A private graveside was held on Tuesday, April 13, at Moriah Cemetery.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton was in charge of arrangements.
