Judd Scott Taylor, a Washington Parish Jail trustee who scaled a fence and walked off from the jail during the evening of Sunday, March 29, was apprehended in Harrison County, Miss., at approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday, according to Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Pending extradition procedures, Taylor will be returned to Washington Parish, where he will face a charge of simple escape in addition to charges he already faced, Haley said.
No additional details of the capture are available at this time.
“We may never know what possessed him to walk away when he did,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “Whatever it was, though, was ill-conceived. I am so grateful for the hard work our detectives put in on this case all week, as well as the great assistance from law enforcement in Harrison County.”
