Thursday morning update: State has seen 347 COVID-19 cases, 8 deaths

On Thursday morning, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) released its updated statistics concerning the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The LDH reported at 9:30 a.m. that it had seen 347 reported cases of COVID-19, with a total of eight deaths. There had been a total of 805 tests completed by the state laboratory — this total does not include commercial testing.

As of Thursday morning, there had been 17 different parishes that had reported at least one case of COVID-19.

The new report showed some growth in the reported spread of the disease. As of Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., there had been 280 cases reported among 13 parishes.
