Patricia Ann Breland Rogers was called to her eternal home on Feb. 9, 2020, at the age of 84. She was a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, born May 3, 1935.

Patricia graduated Bogalusa High School in 1953; then, she attended Draughons Business School in Baton Rouge. Upon completion, she returned home to work at City Hall as secretary to the Mayor. Pat was wed on May 1, 1955, and began her lifelong career as a homemaker. She was a kind and caring spouse, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt who loved her family dearly. Pat has been a member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church since childhood. She grew up in a Christian home with Christian values, striving to instill those same traits in her children and grandchild. Prior to her lengthy illness, Pat was a member of “The Girls” club, where friends met weekly to converse and enjoy each other’s company.

Pat is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Ray Rogers; one daughter, Kristal and son-in-law Ronald Creel; one granddaughter, Holly Harris; one brother, Michael Breland; and one sister, Pamela Moore. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Elsie Breland; her son, Charles P. “Chuck” Rogers; and one brother, Larry Breland.

Services celebrating her life will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 12, beginning at 9 a.m., with services following at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Clay Norwood will be officiating with instrumentation and song provided by Gordan Thomas. Interment service will be at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.

Pallbearers will include George Bateman, Albert Burr Jr., Burt Burr, Mark Johnson, Ryan Ladner and Everett Watson.
