Gerald Pounds passed away on Jan. 31, 2020 in Covington, at the age of 76. He was born in Bogalusa on Nov. 14, 1943.

He is survived by Catherine Easterling Beall; his daughters, Tara (Jeremy) Schenk and Alisha Renae Pounds; and his grandchildren, Kadyn, Kalette (Lettie) Schenk, Daeson Taylor, Cara Taylor, Kai Sumpter and Eli Sumpter; and sisters, Ruthalia Lumpkin, Barbara Lewis and Linda (Howard) Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Currun and Bedelia Henley Pounds; grandparents, James Perry and Missouri Henley and Harrison and Docia Pounds; and brothers, Vincent Moran, Douglas Pounds, and Greg Pounds.

Mr. Pounds’ arrangements have been entrusted to Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory. Services celebrating his life will be held at Lee’s Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, Feb. 8. Visitation will begin at noon and continue until the memorial service begins at 2 p.m. The Rev. Keith Sheridan will officiate.
