Employees with Zachry Group, the firm that is working on construction of the power generation facility at the old Calpine site, recently helped raise thousands of dollars for a toy drive for children on Christmas.
They bought, wrapped and bagged all the gifts. At one point, they thought the drive was done, but because there were more children in need, they went out and raised even more money for more gifts. The group also sent 150 pairs of socks to Resthaven Living Center.
Among those shown in the photo above are Community Closet director Tiye Yayu, YMCA program director Toni St. Philip, local volunteers and the Zachry employees.
The drive was held at the YMCA, and Community Closet helped identify the families in need.
