The Franklinton Police Department is currently investigating a counterfeit check scam involving several Hispanic individuals, according to FPD officials.

Police said that the suspects have cashed over $12,000 in counterfeit checks from Windmill Nursery, at businesses in both Franklinton and Folsom.

At this time, police are asking citizens not to accept checks, cash checks or otherwise accept as a form of payment any checks bearing the company name “Windmill Nursery.”

FPD officials said that officers are currently working to identify the persons involved, and will provide an update as more information becomes available.
