Florence Juanita Dillard Mitchell, a native and a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa, at the age of 77.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Hardin of Franklinton, and Carolyn Lewis of Euless, Texas; son, John (Wanita) Mitchell of Franklinton; sister, Linda (Anthony) Kalinanskas of Bogalusa; and brother, Samuel (Linda) Dillard of Woodville, Miss. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Acey Mitchell Jr.; son, Charles H. Mitchell; sister, Jeanette Bounds; and brother, Ray Dillard.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa on Saturday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m., with Bro. Fred Brumfield officiating. Interment will follow in Dillard Cemetery in Bogalusa.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m.
