BPD gets $53K grant for patrols
The Bogalusa Police Department has been awarded a grant, in the amount of $53,630, by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission as part of a statewide fatal and injury crash reduction effort, according to Assistant Police Chief Percy Knight.
Knight said that the funds would be used for additional officers to conduct DWI patrols, sobriety checkpoints, seat belt enforcement and underage alcohol enforcement in the city of Bogalusa.
