J.C. McDonald, 91, a resident of Bogalusa, departed this life on Nov. 15, 2019. He was born on Feb. 4, 1928, to Shannon McDonald and Willie Mae Giddins in Bogalusa.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Allean Plunkett McDonald; two daughters, Hazel Mclean of Las Vegas, Nev., and Brenda Blalock of Lake Charles; one sister, Debra Ann Tabb of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shannon McDonald and Willie Mae Giddins; and two sons, Larry James McDonald and J.C. McDonald Jr.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church, 1408 N. Roosevelt St. in Bogalusa, with the Rev. James Magee, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Bogalusa.
