Bogalusa competes in Metro Cross Country Championships

Bogalusa had four runners compete in the 2019 Perfectly Fit Northshore Metro Cross Country Championships on Thursday at St. Thomas Aquinas.
Davin Phillips ran the three-mile race in 22 minutes, 19 seconds to finish 106th.
Haikem Thompson took 110th, clocking a 22:45, while Tyron Johnson was at 26 minutes for 122nd and Jaylon Scott was 126th at 26:37.
Belle Chasse’s Louden Boudreaux won the event in 15:19.
Christ Episcopal’s Jake Tournillon was second at 16:25, followed by Belle Chasse’s Brady Palmer’s 16:49, Ponchatoula’s Andrew Falcon’s 16:50 and Northlake Christian School’s Dallas West with 16:54 to round out the top five in a field of 132.
Schools needed five runners to qualify for team honors.
Belle Chasse won the team competition with 33 points.
Christ Episcopal School was second at 99, followed by Ponchatoula’s 122, Metairie Park Country Day’s 123 and Pope John Paul II’s 149 to round out the top five with 13 qualifying teams.
Bogalusa and Franklinton will compete in their state meets on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.
