A plan to build condos in the city is once again back on the Bogalusa City Council’s agenda.

The Bogalusa City Council will meet Monday, Nov. 18, at 5:30 p.m. at Bogalusa City Hall, located at 214 Arkansas St. The council typically meets on Tuesday, but the day change was made by a vote of council members, in order to better meet the schedule of Fiscal Administrator Joey Richard.

The special-use permit request to build condos, on property located at West 16th Street and Avenue I and H, was initially rejected by a 4-3 vote at the Oct. 15 city council meeting.

This time, it is back on Monday’s agenda as an ordinance to be introduced by Richard. After it is introduced at Monday’s meeting, it will be eligible for a new vote at the council’s next meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The full agenda of Monday’s meeting is as follows:

  • Approval of minutes of Oct. 15 and Nov. 18 meetings.
  • Introduction of an ordinance to approve the 2019 Revised Budget (introduced by Councilwoman Oneita Graham).
  • Introduction of an ordinance to issue a special use permit to American Dream Homes of Washington Parish, LLC, for construction of condominiums allowing three to six multi-family units per lot of property located at West 16th Street and Avenue I and H, specifically Block 28, Lots 1-40, and to provide for related matters (introduced by Fiscal Administrator Richard).
  • Public hearing and adoption of an ordinance authorizing the mayor to enter into a contract with Willis Construction Company for the George R. Carr Memorial Airport Runway 18 Obstruction Removal Part 2 State Project No. H.009382 for the City of Bogalusa (introduced by Councilman Mark Irvine).
  • Public participation, administrative remarks and other council discussion.
