James Michael Pittman, a native of Tylertown, Miss., and a resident of Angie, passed away on Monday morning, Nov. 11, 2019, at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington. He honored his country in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Angie Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Crain Pittman of Angie; his sons, Matt (Laurie) Pittman of Angie, and Mark (Kathy) Pittman of Angie; his grandchildren, Kayla and Kort (Lori Ann) Pittman of Angie, Jessica Pittman and Jonathan Pittman of Bogalusa; and his brother, Bill (Ginger) Pittman of Columbia, Miss. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Hilda Pittman.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory in Bogalusa. Services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Angie Baptist Church in Angie. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the funeral service begins at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jason Shawley and the Rev. Larry Mizell will officiate. Interment will follow at Bonnie Cemetery in Angie.
