Mrs. Betty Jean Miller McGehee passed away on Nov. 12, 2019, at the age of 91. She was born in Sunny Hill on Nov. 21, 1927. She was a long time resident of Bogalusa, where she was a member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Carolyn) McGehee of Bogalusa, and Rodney (Cindy) McGehee of Bogalusa; her daughter, Patty McGehee Sandifer (Richard Smith) of Bogalusa; nine grandchildren, Bryan (Nicole) McGehee, Kristy (Scott) Hinson, Cristy (Bobby) Tanner, Bridgette (Jeff) Russell, Jordan (Mark) Vidrine, Daymon (Sara) Sandifer, Derrick (Lindsey) Sandifer, Ben “Boo” (Klea) Sandifer, and Rebecca (Chuck) Wilkes; and sister-in-law, Julia Miller of Lewiston. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. McGehee; her parents, Hubert and Lola Miller; a son, Burlon McGehee; her sister, Winifred Miller Dennison; and her brother, Paul Miller.

Services celebrating her life were at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory in Bogalusa on Thursday, Nov. 14. Visitation began at 9 a.m. and continued until the service began at 1 p.m. Interment followed at 3 p.m. at Lewiston Baptist Church Cemetery in Lewiston. The Rev. Clay Norwood officiated.

Serving as pallbearers were Bryan McGehee, Scott Hinson, Mark Vidrine, Daymon Sandifer, Derrick Sandifer and Boo Sandifer.
