Robert E. “Bob” Sharpe, 66, passed away on Oct. 25, 2019, peacefully at his home in Bogalusa.
Visitation will be at 9:30 am Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Sones Chapel Baptist Church, located at 715 Sones Chapel Road in Carriere, Miss. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Sones Chapel Cemetery.
A lifetime resident of Bogalusa, Bob was born to the late Opal V. Sones and Lorance J. Sharpe in October 1953. He went to school in Bogalusa, attended Bogalusa High School, and Northeastern (University of Louisiana Monroe). He worked in many professions and ended his career with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He was a lifetime hunter and fisherman. Bob was known for his passion of cooking for friends and family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, stories, wise words, and love for his kids.
He is preceded in death by parents, Opal and Lorance Sharpe; siblings, Merwin Sharpe, Henry Sharpe, and Judith Farmer; and many other beloved family members.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda Sharpe; children, Kristin Sharpe, Emily Sharpe Cutler; and step-sons Travis Williams and Mark Meredith; his eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Pallbearers will be Paul Farmer (brother-in-law), Paul Farmer Jr. (nephew), Bart Farmer (nephew), Travis Williams (step-son), Gene Herrin (lifetime friend), and Kim Sones (Cousin). Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Martin Farmer (cousin), Holden Farmer (cousin), Mark Meredith (step-son), and Sean Wyers (close family friend).
