It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Murdock Magee on Oct. 18, 2019, at the age of 77. Murdock was born Oct. 12, 1942, to the late Walter and Gertrude Magee Sr. He grew up in Franklinton.

Murdock Magee is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jeanette Magee; his daughters, Madeline Causey of Tacoma, Wash., Stephanie Magee of Atlanta, Ga., and Yolanda (Quentin) Brumfield of Franklinton; and his brother, Johnny Magee. He has six grandchildren, Timothy Causey, Ta’Morris Causey, Ta’Miyah Causey of Tacoma, Ahrialle Brumfield, Quade Brumfield, and Na’Shon McGary of Franklinton; two great-grandchildren, Kylan Causey and Jaida Causey; and one special nephew, Tradell Causey. Murdock also has a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Gertrude Magee Sr.; his sisters, Christine Martin and Laura Lee; and his brother, Walter Magee Jr.

The viewing will be Friday, Oct. 25, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

The funeral will be held at Greater Hayes Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 31499 Hayes Creek Road in Franklinton, on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jerome Warren, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at the Greater Hayes Cemetery.
