Pine High School eighth grader Braeden Arceneaux placed third in the 2019 Cattle Festival Powerlifting Stampede Meet in Abbeville in September. Arceneaux, who weighs 95 pounds, competed in the 116-pound weight class. He squatted 57.5 kilograms (126.7 pounds), benched 37.5 kilograms (82.6 pounds) and deadlifted 92.5 kilograms (203.9 pounds) for a total of 187.5 kilograms (413 pounds). The meet featured 87 lifters and there were 11 in Arceneaux’s weight class.
