Mary Elizabeth Schulz Barber departed this life on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at her home in Bogalusa, at the age of 80. She was a native of Evansville, Ind., and a longtime resident of Bogalusa. She was a proud military wife and enjoyed making a home for her family at various duty stations. She was a compassionate CAN and home health aide until her retirement.
Mary is survived by three daughters, Becky Blaylock, Barbara and her husband Kenny Blackwell, and Julie and her husband Butch Beets. Additionally, she leaves behind seven grandchildren, Terri, Michael and Lisa Blackwell, Brandy Young, Bethany Beets, Barry and Bill Blaylock, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by three brothers, Don Gene and Bill Schulz and their families.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Barber; parents, Joseph and Rose Mary Schulz; her son, William Kersch; and one brother, Robert Schulz.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 3 p.m., at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home Chapel in Bogalusa. Officiating will be Pastor Jacob Gill. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the service time. Interment will immediately follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Bogalusa.
