James Lloyd Stephenson passed away at his home in Angie on Sept. 24, 2019, at the age of 79. He was born on May 30, 1940, in Corinth, Miss. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his sister, Jean (Billy) Boyte; nephew, James Michael Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friends, Michael (Konnie) Crain, Stella McNeese, and John Bufkin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathleen Stephenson; and his parents, Opal Sims and Harry Stephenson.

Services for Mr. Stephenson will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, Sept. 28. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Kathy Pfleider will officiate. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery. Magic City American Legion Post #24 will be serving as pallbearers.
