Ben Rester

Ben Earl Rester, 68, a resident of the Oak Grove community, passed away Friday night, Sept. 6, 2019, at his home on Choctaw Road, where he grew up and resided most of his life.

He was born Oct. 27, 1950. Ben spent his life as a husband, daddy and paw paw and he was a hard worker. He was great at working with his hands as he was a brick-layer, pipe-fitter and welder for many years. Ben enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. His favorite hobby may have been fixing up antique Model A hot rods from the 1920’s and 30’s, including his favorite purple one. “You will be greatly missed and always loved daddy, until we meet again”

He is survived by a daughter, Jamie Rester Persick; two sons, Kevin Rester and Brian Rester; eight grandchildren; a brother, Nick Rester; a sister, Janice Rester; and also several nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Harvey Rester and Genevieve Ellis Rester.

Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, with the Rev. Pete Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Rester Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kevin Rester, Jeremy Rester, Cole Persick, Jason Persick, Larry Williams and Hyrum Tolman.
