Man arrested for local thefts

On Friday, Sept. 6, the Walthall County (Miss.) Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division received information from the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division that some stolen property had been sold to an individual in Walthall County. Later that morning, a search warrant was executed at 10 Houston Graves Road in Tylertown, Miss., located in Walthall County.

WCSO Investigators, along with Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agents discovered a Miller welder, a commercial fan and a Springfield .22 rifle that had reportedly been taken in Washington Parish. Also, officers found five long guns that had been taken in a residential burglary in Lincoln County, Miss., THC Oil, and individually wrapped bags of marijuana.

Tanner Hughes, 24, of Tylertown, was arrested for possession of stolen property, trafficking in stolen firearms, and possession with the intent to distribute controlled substances (two counts). Hughes was currently out on bond with the WCSO for burglary of a dwelling, conspiracy to commit burglary of a dwelling, and possession of stolen firearms.
