Ruth Jackson Joyner, a native of Bogalusa, passed away at her home in Somerset, N.J., on Sept. 5, 2019. She was 88 years old.

Ruth attended the Washington Parish School System.

She is survived by her daughter, Angernell Jackson of Somerset; step-children, Barbara and James A. Joyner Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, Peter and Emma Abbott Jackson; six brothers, Wesley, Charlie, Demmie, Earnest Sr., Jewel Sr. and Glimmie Sr.; and five sisters, Velma J. Buckley, Ethel J. Brown, Fannie J. Dantzler, Earnestine J. Mark, and Mamie J. Taylor.

Viewing will be Friday, Sept. 20, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The family hour is 10:30 a.m. and the funeral will start at 11 a.m.

Internment will take place at Good Hope Cemetery in Wilmer.
