“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

Vance Darnell Wilson was born on Nov. 18, 1963, in Bogalusa. He made his heavenly transition on Sept. 3, 2019, at his home in Franklinton.

Dun, as he was known to all, worked as a truck driver for many years. He recommitted to his faith and was a loyal member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the New Orleans Saints, and was loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his brother, Mr. Bryant Smith of Des Moines, Iowa; his father, E.L. Smith of New Orleans; his brothers, Ryan Perkins, Kenneth Davis, Akela Bickham, and Rodrick Ratliff; his sisters, Daphne Smith, Kimberly Jones, and Chicquita Attipoe; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Tempie Lee Wilson; and his grandparents, Zula and Alton “Tob” Wilson.

The funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, located at 44030 Max Brumfield Road in Franklinton.   The Rev. Johnny Causey will be officiating.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton is in charge of the arrangements. Sign the guestbook online at www.crainandsons.com.
