Truth in Nature, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will begin running local outdoor mentorship and ministry programs for fatherless and single-parent boys beginning in the fall of 2019.

Truth in Nature will be kicking off with an “Open House” on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Storehouse Church (950 Ellis St. in Franklinton), following the Sunday morning service. The times will be noon until 3 p.m. This event is open to the public for anyone who would like to know more about the ministry. There will be fun and games for the whole family, free food, and more information on Truth in Nature. Organization members said that they are excited about the potential to reach many fatherless young men in the Franklinton and Washington Parish area.

Founded in 2009 in Dallas, Ga., Truth in Nature has grown to “Reach, Inspire, Support, and Engage” young men from fatherless and single parent homes in 11 different locations across five states. With the organization’s newest chapter now ready to begin operations in Franklinton, longtime resident Tommy Waldrep will be leading the efforts as Program Director.

“We are excited about the opportunity to engage more fatherless young men in the community with local mentors to make a difference in their life,” Waldrep said.

A Christian-based organization, young men can expect to engage with mentors in an outdoor setting, while being exposed on becoming a Christian man and positive member of the community. These programs are free of charge for these young men after registration paperwork has been completed.

Local residents are encouraged to support Truth in Nature as they seek mentors, partnerships with local businesses, contributors, and referrals from young men that meet this criterion. In addition, Truth in Nature looks forward to seeing everyone at the open house.
