Emma Jean Holmes Sartin was born on May 23, 1958, to the union of Henrietta Dillon Holmes and Arthur Quinn Holmes Sr. in Bogalusa. Emma was a soldier at “Jesus’ feet” and accepted Christ at a very early age, being baptized at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church in Bogalusa, under the Rev. M.K. Duncan, where she loved Sunday School. At a later age she joined Second Baptist Church in Bogalusa, under the leadership of Dr. Rev. James Cyrus.

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, while at the “feet of Jesus,” Emma’s work was done. The voice said “work is done, come on home rest, and be with Jesus.”
