Bogalusa citizens are reminded that household residential trash containers should not be left at the roadside after weekly pick-up.

Gloria Kates, the Bogalusa City Council member representing District A, told The Daily News that it has been a problem in the past. She said that it is a beautification issue, and that empty trash cans left on the side of the road create an eyesore.

City law even requires that citizens should not leave the trash cans out.

The text of the ordinance, passed in October of 2005, states: “Residents shall remove garbage/trash containers from curbside as soon as possible after collection, no more than 24 hours after the specified collection day.”
