Brother Jack Gill passed away at his home in Bogalusa on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at the age of 80. Brother Jack was a member of Ben’s Ford Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He was the owner of Bogalusa Auto and Sales since 1975. Brother Jack was a U.S. Army Veteran. Brother Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty R. Corkern Gill of Bogalusa; one daughter, Sonya A. Edwards and her husband Doug of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, Billy Gill and his wife Margaret of Bogalusa, and Larry Gill of Bogalusa; three grandchildren, Tanner F. Beverly and his wife Ashley, Trevor N. Beverly and Katelyn M. Covington and her husband Tal. He is also survived by many nieces nephews and other family members.

Brother Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Ado J. and Willie Mae Gill; one brother, Ollie Gill; and two sisters, Dorothy Grimes and Julie Sumrall.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Friday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m., with visitation resuming at 8 a.m., at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, immediately following the funeral services.
