Emma Jean Francis, a longtime resident of Panama City, Fla., passed away peacefully at her home Aug. 19, 2019.

She was born in Bogalusa.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a son, Lonnie “Main Man” Francis; a daughter-in-law, Andrea “Girlfriend” Francis; a granddaughter, Emily “Queen” Francis, all of Clarksville, Tenn.; four sisters, Earnestine Douglas, Ruby Johnson and Penny Douglas, all of Bogalusa, and Ann (Karl) Piper of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Robert and Gary Francis, both of Bogalusa; one aunt, Emma Walls of Kentwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Jessie Douglas; two brothers, Willie Douglas and Arthur Francis; a niece, Tina Douglas; a sister-in-law, Lynn Douglas; and her companion, Bernard Pigott.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. at the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
