Qualification open until Thursday

Candidates for political races in this year’s elections have until Thursday to qualify.
For parish level offices, candidates should file with the Washington Parish Clerk of Court’s Office at the courthouse in Franklinton. For state level offices, candidates should file with the Louisiana Secretary of State’s office in Baton Rouge.
The primary election is Saturday, Oct. 12, and the general election is Saturday, Nov. 16.
As of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, the following candidates had qualified for races that will be on the ballot in Washington Parish. This list was accurate at press time, but will continue to develop as more candidates qualify before Thursday’s deadline.
