Julius Tynes

Julius Walter Tynes, 54, of Bogalusa, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Otha and Gina Tynes in Rogers, Ark. He was born July 19, 1965, in Bogalusa, to Irene Tynes and Gussie Tynes.

He attended Bogalusa High School, where he was a defensive tackle on the Lumberjack Football Team.

Julius’s true passion was his precious family. He put others before himself and loved unconditionally. He had a deep faith in God. Julius was a member of Crossroads United Pentecostal Church.

Julius is survived by two sisters, Romona Rogers and Katie Tynes; three brothers, Gussie Tynes and wife, Margie Tynes, Country Tynes and wife, Victoria Tynes, and Otha Tynes and wife, Gina Tynes of Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jackie Ray Rogers; and two nephews, Christopher Scott Tynes and James Matthew Rogers.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa. A visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 8 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Gussie Tynes officiating. Interment will follow in Pounds Cemetery in Bogalusa.
