Shanda Lynette Kennedy, 51, went to be with the Lord peacefully Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at North Oaks in Hammond, surrounded by her loved ones.

She loved spending time with her family and friends; she also loved spending time with her beloved pets Max and Fred.

Shanda is survived by her children, Stanton (Elizabeth) Smith and Sydney Roussell of Hammond; sisters, Wanda Kennedy Saucier (Tim) and Amanda Kennedy Knight (Keith) of Stateline; grandchildren, Haleigh and Jaxon Smith of Hammond; nieces and nephews, Marci (Aaron) Seals of Varnado, Michaela (Joee) Davis of Bogalusa, Kyle (McKenna) Knight of Stateline, Hunter Knight (Payton Stogner) of Stateline, and Justin Saucier of Poplarville, Miss.; great-nieces and nephews, Maydee Seals, Beau and Micah Davis, Hank Seals, Kyleigh and Kyler Knight; special cousin, Denise McKenzie; loving caretaker, Robert Breland; and also other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ford and Dorothy Kennedy.

She will have a graveside memorial service Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at Seal cemetery in Stateline.

Her No. 1 priority was providing for her kids. She was a very strong-willed woman and will be greatly missed.
