Easton Pittman, the son of Terry and Lovelady Pittman of Bogalusa and a 2015 Franklinton High School graduate, recently completed the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) officer candidate school program on July 6 in Quantico, Va.

He commissioned as a second lieutenant on July 8 in Oxford, Miss. Family, friends, and his former FHS Jr. ROTC instructor gathered to celebrate this milestone with him. His immediate family took part in the tradition of pinning of the lieutenant bars, and presentation of the USMC Officers Guide. His former high school instructor, USMC Master Gunnery Sgt. Dalvin Bailey, presented Pittman with the traditional first salute.

2nd Lt. Pittman will return to Virginia for TBS (The Basic School) training before being placed in his chosen military occupational specialty. Pittman is a 2019 honor graduate of Ole Miss, where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice.
