A sweet club meeting (for the 50th year!)

Chances are that when Bogalusa folks hear the word “watermelon,” one of the first names that comes to mind is John Gallaspy. And for good reason, as Gallaspy always brings a tasty crop of the parish’s signature crop to market each summer.

On Tuesday, Gallaspy continued a tradition that he has been doing for 50 straight years, as he attended a Bogalusa Rotary Club meeting to discuss his watermelon harvest and serve the tasty treats to club members.

He also had a special helping hand this year, as his granddaughter Molly assisted him.
