Phillip Lorio

Mr. Phillip Lorio passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, at his home in Bogalusa, at the age of 67. Phillip was a shipping clerk at International Paper for 30 years. He loved mechanic work, camping and spending time with friends and family. He was a very hard-working man.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, June Corkern Lorio of Bogalusa; two sons, Chad Jeremy Lorio of Bogalusa, and Phillip Ray Lorio of Bogalusa; one daughter, Tecia Ammons; and her husband, Glen Dale of Crossroads, Miss.; five grandchildren, Jared Phelps, Jacob Rhoades, Hunter Williams, Chad Lorio Jr. “C.J.,” and Anna Maria Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Betty Lorio; two brothers, Joseph Anthony Lorio and Salvador Lorio; one sister, Anna Maria Lorio; pallbearers, Jason Lumpkin, Matt Corkern, Chris Mizell, Carlton Talley, Ricardo Morris and Bill Richardson; and honorary pallbearers, Lee Curter, Billy Creel Jr., Casey Miller.

Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday, July 9, at 4 p.m., officiated by Rev. Larry Lassley and sitting in for Bro. Tommy Pittman was Rev. Jimmy Byrd. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the service time. Interment immediately followed at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.
